Day 5....Cowgirl Up!

Best day so far!  The adventure bug once again bit us and off we went in search of some.  What better way to see this beautiful country then on horseback?  Have we ever ridden before...girls no, me once so basically no...but our kind guide, Erik, told us that he never would have believed with as well as we did....and we believed every word of it :)

Ella and Shaw

Emily and Butch

Favorite picture of the day!  These girls are a blast.

Day 4....Yellowstone National Park

So back in the car we go...Yellowstone is only an hour away from Big Sky and I was not going to come all this way without making sure that the girls witnessed Old Faithful.  Well 8 hours later I will have to agree with the girls...geysers stink and one really does look like the other. :)  But the trip was well worth it and getting a chance to see the wild life up close and personal made the 8 hours in the car worth the trip.

Side note:  It has amazed us how quickly the weather can change, especially when we are on the top of the mountain at Yellowstone Club.  The day was cool...which was nice because we could drive the park with our windows open and not have to use the AC....But  on the last half of the lower loop a storm moved in and we spent the last geyser stop (and our favorite stop) laughing and running in the rain and hail storm.

Day 3 of our Mother/Daughter Vacation

Good morning Iowa from Montana!  First, for those that have been worried or disappointed as to why there have been little to no pictures 1.  The service is terrible!  2.  I have been trying very hard to hold myself back from over posting the BEAUTIFUL scenery pictures that I have taken....and believe me I have LOTS!  I'm sure the girls would tell you that every third statement out of my mouth over the last day is something about the view. I cannot get enough of it!  So I have to warn you that while I am sparing the FB world the MANY scenery pictures....now that you are in my blog, you're all mine!!!

On our first full day in Montana and after 18 hours in the car, Emily and I could not bring ourselves to get back in that car.  So we put on our hiking shoes packed the bear spray and took advantage of the wonderful trails on the Yellowstone Club property.  We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed the hike.

Funny side note:  Bear spray is a real thing.  I laugh at the thought of spraying a bear in the face.  I'm sure it works or they would not sell the stuff, but I would think that it would work just as well if I turned the spray on myself and sprayed until I passed out and then let the mauling begin!

Love these two more than either of them could even image.

Mother/Daughter Vacation...Day 2

Two days and 7 hours into our trip to Montana.  While the company is still great...it is also very sleepy. :)  We did manage to stop and see the site where the Battle of Little Bighorn started as well as a few prairie dogs. The trip was long but the view was beautiful and we all agreed that the best part was arriving in Big Sky to be reunited with the third Feldman girl!

Mother/Daughter Vacation #2...But first a stop at Principal Park!

So Emily and I set off for Montana on Saturday morning to bring our Ella home from her internship at the Yellowstone Club.  The trip is long but the company is GREAT!  But, before we pointed our car west we had to stop for the first game of the 2014 State Baseball Tournament to watch our Lions compete.

Go Lions!

Basketball and Mall of America

Finally, after several months most of the girls that won the Iowa Region of the Pacesetters Basketball Tournament go their shot at the Four State Pacesetters Tournament!  While it was a long way to travel to play a few games of basketball it was a day full of fun and competition.  The girls played well and faced some competitive teams from Minnesota and South Dakota.  The trip was a quick in and out for the Feldman's since Emily and I had planned to head to Montana the next day.  But the length of the trip did not dampen our fun.  Along with a  stop at the Mall of America the trip was complete.

Funny side note:  Emily was quite intrigued as to why Minnesota felt that they could stake claim to America's Mall....and then decided that if it was that easy to stake this claim that her goal was to bring a mall that was one store larger to Iowa City...she is thinking Mall of America Plus One is a possible name.....stay tuned for further updates on this adventure :)
