The Bridges of F.W. Kent Park

When we headed off on our second camping trip we knew our destination was Kent Park...little did we know that we would again stumble across a great Iowa Gem.  Like most camping trips our mornings were spent relaxing, afternoons were filled with hiking, swimming and fishing while the evenings were spent relaxing around a fire with family and friends.  Needless to say we had a great weekend and while camping was great I really want to tell you about the bridges.

I'm sure most of you know that Emily and I are always up for an adventure so when we heard about the bridges we knew a hunt was on our list of things to do this weekend.  Kent Park is home to 8 bridges that once stood proud in Johnson County and holds history to the architecture of their time.  Seven bridges circle the main lake with the last being tucked away on a trail at the Youth Camp Center.  If you are still trying to find that last bit of fun for the summer this is a great morning or afternoon trip.  Take a picnic lunch or your swimsuit and enjoy the beauty of this State Park.

Getting ready to start our hunt, but first a stop at the Conservation Education Center
Look what we found on our trail...Love these Little Free Libraries

And on to our hunt for bridges!

After a great afternoon of hunting it was time for snuggling with My Emily.
