4th of July Glamping with the Feldman's

The rain, rain, rain
Came down, down, down
In rushing, rising riv'lets
'Til the river crept out of its bed
And crept right into piglet's

So our first outing can be best described as well....wet.  Of course, we quite possibly picked the busiest of weekends to start our camping adventures so taking the advice of Gary's brother, Whitey, we set up our camper the Sunday before the 4th but our first over night was Wednesday, July 2.  The day started like any other summer day in the Feldman household...Gary off to work, Ella off to work, Emily had a softball doubleheader at 1:00 and well me...I'm footloose and fancy free in the summer.  The plan was that we would all meet at the campsite for supper then Gary, Emily and I would spend the night (Ella was still a working girl so she felt she needed the conveniences of home).  Great plan....I love plans....I live by plans....but sometimes the best laid plans....well you know how that ends.

Cooking in the rain.

Our first meal, salmon and roasted veggies.  Remember, I said we were glamping. :)

 And the rain, rain, rain
Came down, down, down
So piglet started bailing
He was unaware, atop his chair
While bailing he was sailing

The sunnyside of rainy camping days is the lazy afternoons.  Ella and I took advantage of the rain and the close vicinity of the Coral Ridge Mall and ran to pick up the last few things she needed before heading to Big Sky Country...but came back to three very lazy family members.

And the rain, rain, rain

 Came down, down, down
And the flood rose up, up, upper
Pooh, too was caught and so he thought
I must rescue my supper

But soon the rain clouds did pass and the sun did come out and Emily's birthday celebration was a hit.  We enjoyed a day of hiking, walking the spillway, exploring for fossils, and enjoying time with family.

And after a wet fun weekend it was time for some pampering before heading home....Can't wait to head out again!
